Happy Bye-Week Everyone!
It's time to check in with UVA's other football team. The Hoos have posted back-to-back conference wins in their last two games, including handing UMD their first loss of the season in front of a raucous home crowd Friday night. The victory puts the Hoos in great shape at 3-1 in the ACC (tied for 1st with 3 other teams). More importantly, the remaining conference schedule only includes teams in the bottom half of the conference. Will Bates is tied for 2nd in the ACC in points and stands at 3rd in goals scored in the conference.
The team dropped a couple head-scratching losses in the early part of the season, but at this point, the young team seems to have come together when it matters. If they can keep up the winning momentum, the Hoos should find themselves as the 1 or 2 seed in the ACC tourney and squarely in the mix to make a run in the NCAAs. There's some excellent highlights of the win here. Check it out - especially for the ubersweet rocket-of-shot game winner.
If you haven't caught a game yet - you should head over to Klöckner soon - tomorrow night the Hoos host Navy. The biggest home game remaining though is against BC on 10/29 (conveniently, the football team plays on Thursday that week). It's a Saturday night game. I pledge to be there. ESPN will be there. Kendall and Mike should be there. You should be there.
Pierce, I will do my level best to be there. Do you tailgate? If so, mind if I join you? If not, want to start?
ReplyDeleteI haven't before - but let's do it! That would be spectacular.
