Virginia @ Oregon

First of all: Fuck you, Jon Oliver.

There is no reason we should be playing this game.  Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In Vegas, we are now 25-point underdogs, with an over/under of 71 points scored in the game.  Vegas is saying: Oregon 48, Virginia 23.
I think we play a little bit better than that, and actually start showing some signs of progress under Bronco Mendenhall.  (It doesn't hurt that the guys are free of the pressure of playing at home against a team they should beat; they're free to just let it rip against the Ducks.)
Wahooze pick: Oregon 45, Virginia 28.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The untold story of how Bronco Mendenhall helped the Oregon Ducks 'Win The Day' and turn around the program

Short of a win over Oregon, what would give Virginia fans hope?

  1. I'm usually optimistic but I don't see it being that close. Last time was 59-10. I know we were bad that year but think of last week, how many times we had to run guys down. We will not catch Oregon like that and if (when) they score early, our guys will, likely, get down. I say 52-20, Oregon.

  2. Wow, Kendall, you were almost exactly bang on. If not for missed PATs, you would've been.

    1. In the short term, yes.

      Beat crappy teams to generate wins. Generate wins to improve recruiting. Improve recruiting to upgrade the talent level. Upgrade the talent level to be able to beat better teams.

      This isn't rocket science.

      As for Tony Bennett... it's important to note that it is MUCH easier to rebuild a basketball program, with 5 players on the court and 13 total scholarships, as opposed to a football program, with 22 players on the field and 85 total scholarships.

  6. I thought long and hard about my response. Playing FCS schools is wrong. I don't care if it leads to a winning season and playing in the who gives a shit bowl. Winning is about coaching, playing better, being better, and having better talent. I'm sorry my opinion is mine, you won't change it. We have to strive to play better competition. Screw being pussies and playing JMU, UR, and so on. Play bama, usc, real football teams.
