Gregg Brandon's no-huddle shotgun spread offense has been an unmitigated disaster here at Virginia. Some (myself included) might argue that the offense was a failure for three main reasons: 1) Brandon was never allowed to choose a quarterback and name him the starter and devote all first-team reps to that player during training camp, 2) UVA probably lacks the type of athletes on the o-line that the spread really requires, and 3) Al Groh pulled the plug on Brandon's spread after only the second game... not nearly enough time for the offense to take root. So the offense failed at Virginia, but before you write it off completely, you should read THIS.
