Penn State Wish List

I did this last week and it was fun, so let's do it again.

Things I want to see on Saturday as the Hoos take on the Penn State Nittany Lions...

-- A sack from Billy Schautz, a Real American Hero.

God Bless America

-- Scott Stadium filled to the brim, and LOUD.

-- More Darius Jennings and Tim Smith catch-and-runs for big gains.

-- Some carries for Khalek Shepherd, and not just in garbage time.

-- Similarly, some burn for E.J. Scott outside of mop-up duty.  I think he earned it with his performance last week.

-- At least three touchdowns against a D1-A team.

-- No ill-intentioned booing of the Nits.  Piling on lacks class.  It's not these kids' fault what happened off the field in Unhappy Valley.  Boo because they are the enemy, not because of Sandusky.  We really don't need any bad karma.

-- More production from Jake McGee and Zach Swanson.  I have sugarplums dancing in my head about developing these guys into secret weapons.

-- Another 300+ yards passing from Rocco, and no interceptions!  Gotta keep the Sims backers at bay.

-- Improved ability to pick up tough yards up the middle.

-- The defense generating at least two turnovers.

-- The second game is usually about the time UVA (and most college teams, I suppose) pick up their first serious injury.  Let's avoid that, eh?

-- Continued success in the department of run-stopping.  Keep the tsunami waves of defensive linemen crashing onto the shores of Penn State's ground game.

-- Sacks, pressures, and batted balls from said d-line.  The pass rush needs to show me something, and PSU won't use as many 3-step drops and cut blocks as Richmond did.  We have a chance to generate some pressure.

-- A win in the turnover battle.

-- A win on the scoreboard.

GO HOOS!
